Born in 1944 in Suriname and resident in the Netherlands, he has been instrumental in shaping multicultural policy, effecting transformative education policy and reform in Europe. He is also an Ayurvedic practitioner.

Dr. Singh is the founder of the academic paradigm of Girmitiyalogy (2025), which has given rise to an emerging inter-disciplinary field of study focused on the archival digitalization and genealogical restoration and ethical reinterpretation of Indian indentured labor migration in the context of Vedic Itihāsa (इतिहास). His work is rooted in the principles of human dignity and diversity and restorative justice and international cooperation and is guided by the ethos of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam and Aatmanirbhar.
